The Globe Stutters On English

This weekend the Boston Globe ran a front-page story critical of Massachusetts policies moving public school kids out of bilingual classes and into English only classes as quickly as possible. Some kids are struggling, and the Globe implies that it's because they need more bilingual class time.

Unfortunately for the Globe, there's another side to the story and it involves facts.

In fact, the big picture on bilingual education in the US is that it's a disaster, one opposed most vehemently by immigrants themselves.

The only people who like bilingual ed are the specialists who make their money off of it, the education theorists who never set foot in a classroom and, of course, the multicultural MSM who assume that anything American--including our language--is suspect.
