Pretty Horrible

When I heard that the folks at the Beverly Farms "Horribles" parade were making fun of the Gloucester High School pregnancy pact story, I cheered. After all, I am an advocate of the power of shame--something the administration in Gloucester rejects.

Then I saw the video of the parade. Yikes.

Sorry, Beverly Farms, but I can't get your back. Floats featuring condom tossing and, ahem, "greasy poles" goes a bit too far for me. If I'd been there with my 8 and 5 year olds, I would have been looking for someone to have a word with.

Great idea, lousy execution.
